On November 6th, the 4th forms went to see a performance of Philip Dart’s “The Visit” (based on J.B. Priestley’s “An Inspector Calls”). In the play, the three students Abby, Jez and Lewis get a late-night visit by Teena Whitsom, an alleged police inspector. A female student has been found on campus after an attempted suicide. In the course of the interviews, the inspector makes the students remember and relive their darkest secrets as each of them has treated a girl very badly in the past. Could this be the student who has been found? – After the inspector has left, the three students wonder if the inspector was real … until the doorbell rings again.
The four actresses and actors did a fantastic job. You could feel every emotion the characters went through as if it was your own. All of us thoroughly enjoyed this smashing performance! Some of us also used the opportunity to have a chat with the actors and actresses and we could even take some pictures with them.
